These cocktails use fresh juices or sugar substitutes so they do not disturb your beach body. If you have incontinence, maintaining a healthy weight is very important. That doesn’t mean you NEED a beach body, but excess pressure on your pelvic floor muscles will make leakage worse. So incontinence – friendly cocktails hold back on the calories! Plus these recipes are incredibly delicious because they have a fresh twist on the classics.

Beer and Wine

In general women should have no more than 1 drink per day, and men should have no more than 2 drinks per day. One drink being equal to a 12 oz beer, 5 oz glass of wine or 1 ½ oz distilled spirits (vodka, whiskey, gin, etc.). This rule also applies to people with incontinence. Incontinence – friendly beer is light, stay away from heavy craft beers. And incontinence – friendly wines are, you guessed it, light as well. Something like prosecco or other light white wines.

1. Watermelontini

Used to order an Appletini off the bat? Then you’ll enjoy this incontinence – friendly, classic twist. Watermelontini is fruity martini-style drink with just enough zip to spark up your night!

Ingredients: 1 cup cubed seedless watermelon, 1/3 cup lemon-lime flavor coconut water, 1 1/2 ounce (3 tablespoons) premium vodka, 1 lime (halved), 2 small watermelon wedges, and ice.

Directions: Toss 1 cup of water melon into a blender. Cover and blend it up until it become a puree. Throw some ice into a cocktail shaker. Pour the pureed watermelon, 1/3 cup lemon-lime flavored coconut water, and 1 1/2 ounce premium vodka over the ice and squeeze the halved limes into the icy mixture. Shake vigorously, over your shoulder and side to side, make sure the cocktail shaker is frosty, almost too cold to touch! Then into two chilled martini glasses.

2. Cucumber Lime-arita

Ingredients: 1/2 cup chopped English cucumber, 1 1/2 ounce (3 tablespoons) premium tequila, 1 ounce (2 tablespoons) Triple Sec, 3/4 teaspoon finely shredded lime peel, 1 tablespoon lime juice, 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar or sugar substitute* equivalent to 1-1/2 teaspoons sugar, ice, and (optional options include: lime juice, thin slices lime, coarse salt).

Directions: Toss your chopped up cucumber, 1 1/2 ounce tequila, 1 ounce Triple Sec, lime peel, 1 tablespoon lime juice, and sugar (or sugar substitute) into a blender and add about 1 cup of ice. Blend this mixture until the cucumber and ice are thoroughly crushed. (For a salted rim, line the rim of a margarita glass with lime juice and dip in coarse salt.) Pour the blended mixture into a margarita glass and garnish with a couple thin lime slices. Sip away and experience the zest.

Ingredients: 1 small ripe peach (peeled, pitted and chopped to make 1/2 cup), 3 small lime wedges, 10 fresh mint leaves, 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar or sugar substitute* equivalent to 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar, 1 cup of ice, 1 1/2 ounces of rum (3 tablespoons), 1 ounce of club soda (2 tablespoons), and a fresh mint sprig.

Directions: Throw the 1/2 cup of chopped peach, 2 small lime wedges, 10 mint leaves and sugar (sugar substitute) into a cocktail shaker. Muddle the ingredients together, pushing down on them until the lime juice is extracted and mint leaves are bruised. Toss in ice and the 1 1/2 ounce of rum. Shake vigorously, over your shoulder and side to side, make sure the cocktail shaker is frosty, almost too cold to touch! Pour everything, including the ice, into an 8 – ounce glass and top with club soda. Garnish with mint and the last lime wedge and savor the fruity freshness.
